MSU Secchia Center

Red Pigeon recently managed a mobile marketing campaign for Michigan State University's College of Human Medicine. Shown are examples of the print collateral we created for the campaign, including a custom QR code and Microsoft Tag, each linking to a custom-built mobile-optimized website designed for the campaign. Red Pigeon also created one of the videos included on the site.

aimWest

AimWest is a nonprofit professional association that supports and promotes the growth of the interactive and technology industries throughout West Michigan. Their goal is to be a forum for the interactive community, to help local businesses diversify using technology, and to provide a medium for sharing resources and knowledge with peers.

In 2010 aimWest launched their new web presence and began working to embrace more social media. The association was impressed with the video we made for the Secchia Center, and asked us how Red Pigeon could use this powerful medium to free their message.

Red Pigeon shot several of aimWest's large events for promotion via social media. The videos highlight the benefits and value of aimWest to its membership and the West Michigan community.

Rapid Growth

Rapid Growth is an online news magazine focused on the West Michigan region. We at Red Pigeon feel that Rapid Growth stands for the same things we do, and Rapid Growth has a tech-savvy readership that we felt would readily embrace the possibilities offered by QR code technology.

We are Rapid Growth's QR code experts. Every week since August 2010 we have created a QR code for one of Rapid Growth's featured articles. Here are some of those articles with their associated QR codes:

SiTE:LAB

Using technology from Red Pigeon Labs, we were able to create a single seamless experience for the art-going audience at two separate venues. We also helped free the artists' message using the power of QR technology and the mobile web.

Zondervan Publishing

Zondervan Publishing is perhaps the largest Christian publisher on the planet, and just happens to be located in Grand Rapids. In late 2010 Zondervan reached out to Red Pigeon for our expertise in QR code technology, asking how it could be used in one of their updated re-printings. Zondervan was impressed by our knowledge and our ability to work with them and deliver our solution quickly.

It wasn't until after we were awarded the top-secret project that we learned our work would be featured in the second-best selling Christan book ever: Pastor Rick Warren's The Purpose-Driven Life. (Just to clarify, number one on that list is the Bible.) On the first page of each of the 40 chapters is a custom-designed QR code—built and tested by Red Pigeon.

TEDxGrandRapids

TEDx Grand Rapids, inspired by the world-renowned TED events, is bringing innovative thinkers and doers together on May 12, 2011 at the Grand Rapids Civic Theater for INNOVATE X. Speakers from around the nation and attendees from West Michigan and the Midwest will experience exhilarating speeches, inspiring performances, and transformative conversations.

Two of our founders, Doug and Will, were involved early on in the process of organizing the inaugural TEDxGRandRapids event by participating in the speaker selection committee.

Shortly after speaker selections were completed, Red Pigeon once again offered up a supporting hand, this time by utilizing our core competencies of QR code design and mobile web development. Red Pigeon created the mobile website for TEDxGrandRapids and deployed TEDxGrandRapids QR codes before and during the event.

Mobile Monday Detroit

Mobile Monday is an international mobile technology group - an open community platform of mobile industry visionaries, developers, and influential individuals fostering brand-neutral cooperation and cross-border P2P business opportunities through live networking events to demo products, share ideas, and discuss trends from both local and global markets. The group currently has two chapters in Michigan: Detroit and Ann Arbor.

In February 2011 Red Pigeon co-founder Doug was asked to speak to a roomfull of mobile technology experts and marketers at Compuware HQ in downtown Detroit. The topic: QR code and mobile web technology. In addition to a relatively humorous talk, Doug wrote a white paper called 5 x W & H on QR Codes, exploring the current and future state of QR code technology in the United States.
